Nicole Alvarez, MSW, LCSW
At any point in our life we may be faced with challenges that seem impossible to overcome. Anxiety, depression, anger, stress and confusion may occur, resulting in unhappiness and disruptions in our relationships with others. Counseling provides an opportunity to clarify feelings, better understand what is happening in our lives, and do some problem solving with respect to changes that need to be made. My style is interactive, empathetic, non-judgmental and respectful of individual differences and choices.
My specialties include: Working with individuals and couples who are experiencing relationship problems; coping with separation and divorce; stress management; managing anxiety, depression and loss; parenting; and direct work with children and adolescents who are having difficulties both at home and at school.
I am a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Rutgers University as well as a graduate of Rutgers, School of Social Work where I was awarded the distinction of "Outstanding Student in Direct Practice". I've been in the social service field for over 14 years and I have an array of experience working with children, adults, couples and families. I am a professional member of The National Association of Social Workers. Nicolea@primecounseling.com
