Marla Jones

LPC- Associate (Supervised by Heidi Smith, LPC-S, #19392)

Marla treats individuals who are struggling with trauma and behaviors caused by substance abuse, personality disorders, and dysfunctional relationships. She uses an empathetic and direct approach which helps the client understand what negative thoughts are holding them back. She aims to create a safe and supportive environment for her clients to explore their emotions, heal past wounds, and work towards positive change. She is currently working on her Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor certification and becoming EMDR Trained.

Marla has gained knowledge through her own life of ups and downs, through multiple years of schooling, and working with clients over her time as a practicum and intern therapist. Having witnessed the devastating impact of trauma firsthand, she is deeply aware of what her clients go through. She understands that each person’s experiences are unique, and tailors her therapeutic interventions to meet their individual needs. She empowers her clients to take an active role in their own healing process. She is extremely passionate about helping her clients and attributes her own success to her life experiences and time in therapy.

She has worked in a range of settings including an autism center, family clinic, and research center. It is common for her clients to be struggling with addiction, broken relationships, illegal activity, and uncertain futures.
