Cassidy Wilson-Vela

Cassidy is a Master’s Level Intern at Southern Methodist University, where she is pursuing her Master of Science in Counseling. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas. Prior to beginning her clinical work, Cassidy spent three years as the office manager here at Prime Counseling. She now works with individuals, couples, and families, with a focus on relationship issues and personality disorders.

Cassidy is a thoughtful and direct therapist who integrates Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) with other evidence-based approaches to support meaningful and lasting change. Her work is grounded in helping clients examine the underlying beliefs that influence their emotions and behaviors, empowering them to build more effective coping strategies and healthier relational patterns. Additionally, Cassidy is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, providing structured support for couples seeking to strengthen their relationships.

With a strong foundation in both theory and practice, Cassidy works collaboratively with her clients to challenge self-defeating thoughts, navigate interpersonal struggles, and develop tools for emotional regulation. She is especially passionate about supporting couples and families in strengthening communication, fostering resilience, and cultivating connection.
