Emily is a Master’s Level Intern at Southern Methodist University completing her Master of Science in Counseling. She works with adolescents and adults navigating substance use, anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions. She is also currently pursuing her Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) credential.
Drawing from Adlerian theory along with trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches, Emily helps clients explore the early experiences, beliefs, and relational dynamics that shape how they move through the world today. Her approach is warm, creative, and grounded in helping clients develop a clearer, more compassionate understanding of themselves. Emily believes that healing often happens through new, safe, and meaningful experiences that gently show the nervous system something different from what it has learned to expect.
With a background in creative fields, Emily integrates expressive and art-informed elements when they support the client’s process, offering additional pathways for insight and emotional expression. Her clinical style emphasizes encouragement, meaning-making, and helping clients reconnect with their innate sense of capability, belonging, and resilience.
